WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PROJECT BUILDER AND A CUSTOM BUILDER?
Deciding whether you should custom build needs to be established within the first stage of your building process, learning the difference between each builder and researching what services are included will determine what type of builder you will decide on.
Project builders generally have display homes that you are able to visit. This is helpful during the design phase as it gives you the opportunity to see the end result. Project builders also have standardised plans whereas custom builders will tailor the design to suit your needs.
Custom builders are also able to be flexible with your inclusions, whether you want a complete turnkey home or just a lock up only. Custom builders can easily accommodate your requirements and create a contract you are happy with.
Building a new home can be a stressful experience, when you work with a custom builder you are able to establish a good working relationship from the very first meeting. With a member of the team managing the entire project your needs will always be prioritised.
All builders comply to the same standards and most of the time profits and overheads are comparable. The difference between the builders is the process, the relationship you develop with your builder, the flexibility and the tailored service. As a boutique custom builder we know you will get the very best personal experience with a customised build.

HOW LONG DOES A RENOVATION TAKE?
This depends on the extent of your renovation, however on a smaller renovation we estimate 4 months for construction. On average our renovations and additions take a total of 6 months.
There are a few important factors to consider when you are deciding when to build
Wet weather can delay construction. So, building through the winter months can extend your build time.
- Christmas holidays
We estimate between 2 – 3 weeks where suppliers and contractors are off on their Christmas break.
- Will you be living in the home?
During the construction period it makes it a much faster process to allow your home to be freely occupied by our team.
